**Be sure to bring the score to the WTC Book 1 to both workshops. In the second workshop on October 22, he will also be discussing more Preludes and Fugues from Book 1 as well as a few from Book 2. P
Remember that members can still get in all four workshops this year for a total of only $42. The fee is due by Oct. 8 in order to be eligible for this special discounted rate. The fee after that date will be $20 per workshop for Eastside Chapter members.

1. Workshop by Randolph Hokanson (pianist and professor)
“Finding the Character of the 48 Preludes and Fugues of Bach”
This two-session workshop will help each of us to formulate convincing interpretations of the separate preludes and fugues with an emphasis on expressive and structural qualities of these great works

2. Masterclass by Frank Wiens (pianist)
“Lecture and Master Class - In Search of the Ultimate Chopin”
A discussion of issues in Chopin performance related to ornamentation, pedaling, tempo, tone quality, etc., as well as various editions. Mr. Wiens will also be sharing his expertise with students of our Eastside chapter.

3. Workshop by Chiu-Ling Lin (pianist)
“Technique, Performance and Communication”
Discussion will include: raising the bar of technical fitness at the piano, building a sound technical foundation from the beginning, learning what makes a performance tick, putting in the final touches, adding polish and sparkle.
