“Successful Literature Choices”

This will be a lecture and demonstration with specific repertoire lists and samples. Learn how to bridge the gap between method books and the music of the great composers. You will get many good ideas for successful literature choices.

2. Workshop by Dr. Steven Spooner (Pianist and Professor)
“The greatest piano recording of the standard repertoire and how to utilize these wonderful resources in the studio”

Great recordings can be used as valuable models of performance and style and will help a student engage in critical listening of a performer’s aesthetic and technique while encouraging them to apply these same listening skills to their own playing.

3. Workshop by Judith Cohen & Jill Timmons (Professor and Concert Artists)
“Two Heads are Better than One - Music for Two Pianos and Piano Duets”

Join the Cohen-Timmons Duo in a lecture demonstration on the music written for piano duet and two pianos. As a duo, Judith Cohen and Jill Timmons have performed and recorded this repertoire for nearly ten years. They bring a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to this genre of piano repertoire and will provide both students and teachers with new resources and ideas.
