WSMTA General Meeting
March 27, 2006
President Carol Hibbard opened the meeting at 10:00. The minutes of the February meeting
were approved.
Library
Report Sherry Owen
reported that the library survey statistic will be available in next meeting.
TreasurerÕs Report The treasurerÕs report was
presented by Egle Peller. An attachment is included with this report.
Membership Carol Hibbard reported there is no
new member this month.
Teacher Referral The teacher referral sheet was
passed around.
Nominating
Committee Carol
announced that Jeanine Edmonds has accepted the nomination to be the recording
secretary. The committee is still looking for the vice president nominee.
Members who have suggestions please contact the committee.
Correspondence
Report Carol Hibbard announced for Donna Sams
that Mary Toy had a hip surgery
and a get well card was sent to Mary.
Adjudications
Sheri
Skidmore reported that over five hundred students participated in the WSMTA piano
adjudications. Sheri thanked some teachers for opening their studio and also
reminded teachers to fill out the adjudicator comment sheet. Some teachers gave
suggestion about pianos and churches for adjudications next year.
Honor
Recital Sondra Hopper
announced that the honor recitals were organized and went well.
Scholarship
Competition Report Nancy
Jang announced that the Scholarship Competition is coming from March 29th
to April 1st. Copies of program will be available. Nancy also
thanked Nicole Kim for spending lots of time to find better quality paper for
Certificates and awards.
Certification
Barbara
Dietrich congratulated Carol Hibbard, Jessica Chiu and Robert Pager receiving
the MTNA National Teacher Certification.
Other
Business Carol
Hibbard announced that teachers who would like to subscribe to Keyboard
Companion can register at the table. Notification of membership renewal will be
sent to members soon. Members who want their information in the yearbook must
renew before July 15th.
Program
Jennifer Li
announced that todayÕs program will be presented by Forrest and Akiko Kinney.
The topic is ÒCreativity of All: Ten Misconceptions about CreativityÓ.
