President Carol Hibbard opened the meeting at 9:45 am. The minutes of the November meeting
were approved as posted.
Finance
Report
Egle
Peller read the treasurer's finance report. (copy attached)
Membership
Report
Rebecca
Bennett reported no new members since the last meeting. One visitor was introduced and
welcomed. Rebecca encouraged
more members to volunteer for the mentoring program to answer questions and
acquaint new members with the chapter.
The sign-up sheet was passed among the members.
Carol
Hibbard reminded members to report member information changes at
emtamembers@gmail.com.
Correspondence
Report
Donna Sams reported no new correspondence since the last
meeting.
Teacher
Referral Sign-up
The
teacher referral sign-up sheet was made available to the members.
Adjudication
Report
Sheri
Skidmore confirmed that the scheduling was completed and sent to the
State. The schedule will be
published in the next OPUS and teacher packets distributed at the February
meeting. There will not be a
Redmond location for this year's adjudication.
Ribbon
Festival Report
Carmen
reminded members that photocopied music would not be accepted at the Ribbon Festival on January 27th.
Scholarship
Competition Report
Application
forms are due by 5:00 pm today, January 22, 2007. A random drawing will be held after the February business
meeting to determine scheduling for the competition. Time keeping volunteers are still needed for 2-hour time
slots. Contact Donna Sams to
volunteer.
Pre-meeting
Recital Report
Nicole
Kim announced that Nancy Jang would give the pre-meeting recital on February 27, 2007.
New
Officers/Nominating Committee
Carol
Hibbard encouraged members to consider volunteering to serve as an officer or
to chair a committee for the next year.
She also requested input from members on possible restructuring of the
job assignments for officers in the future.
Workshops
The
next workshop will be on March 4, 2007 from 4:00 pm - 6:30 pm at Sherman
Clay. Steven Spooner will discuss
"The Art of Practicing".
